Girl Scouts

We received some info in the mail last month so I decided to sign up my older 2 gilrs, my baby is still to young to join. I was looking at the website and decided to sign myself up as a group leader. After taking a few weeks to think about it I decicded to go ahead and be a group leader. I will have my older 2 kids, so my group is 1st and 2nd grade girls. I am still waiting for the people to get training liseted on their website for this year. I am excited get started. I was talking to a freind of mine about being a co leader but she has to much going on so instead she will be signing her daughter up in my group. I am really excited. Her daughter also has AUtism and she sad she will be staying to help her daughter so I think this is going to be fun. I just hope we get a few more girls to sign up.

Autism Awarness

In light of the recent rather stupid remarks by Michael Savage, a popular talk show host heard around the US, I have been pissed off due to 1 the lack of understanding of Autism and 2 the lack of supports us parents of children who are on the spectrum get. I heard of a woman who has a show for parents of children with Autism but her show is geared towards adults with Autism. Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against getting help and support for adults. I think we need more available for parents who have young children. Mainly children under 18.

My daughter is turning 6 on July 31 and I am working to make positive changes especially here in DE because that is where we live. I would like to see all children who have Autism in DE be worked with in the schools. We are lucky in DE and we have a school and a program called DAP, Delaware Autism Program. But in DE we have a law that basically says the schools must assign an educational diagnosis of Autism before they will work with your child. In my area getting this diagnosis has been an insane process. The schools here are failing my child miserably and legally there isn’t much I can do. She is going into the 1st grade and is on a Preschool level. Thanks to her teacher last year who taught her on a preschool level, educationally my child is still there yet going into the 1st grade. Also the schools here are getting ride of the special education. God only knows what is going to happen. July 31st I get to find out if DAP will be accepting my child. I pray they do because I have no idea how the local regular school will work with my child.

So I ask that you pray for us. If you want to help me out then keep reading. I guess I will have to change blogs servers to do this because I am not putting any money into a blog, not that I have the extra cash to. But I want to have a blog show to talk about Autism and related issues. If that sounds boring think again. I am very passionate about this and I plan to have a fun light show. Does anyone know where I can find an online site I can record my show? My earphones with the mic is dying so if you want to help out then buy me a new set and help me get my show going.

Ghost Hunters The Fear Cage Part 4

This is the last TAPs show I saw on the SCI FI Channel. I ahd to show you this becasue thsi was one of the best haunting evendences I have seen. I thought the picture frame turning on it’s own was really cool. I don’t knwo what to think of the 1 investigator getting sick, weither thatw as due to a paranormal event or not. Paranormal Experience

For kicks and giggles, mainly giggles on my part I am considering brining back my old blog Paranormal Experience. I have started TVOing Tapps and watching it when I can. I really enjoy this show wich got me thinking, should I bring it back? So for old times sack and to see if anyone would like to see it again I decided to make a post with a paranormal theme and see if it caught anyones interest. If you want to see it back or if you missed the old blog and just want to see it post your opinion in the comments area.

I just checked for a group of of my sate of DE and of course there isn’t one. I think it would be interesting to go into an investigation with a group like them becasue they go in ready to debunk the place haveing things goining on that are paranormal. I like that becasue I have seen shows where they scream at everything and act like everything they get is real. I like that TAPS works to find something and IF they do they look for a reasonable reason for why it would or could happen. They say that 80% of the pleaces they go into are do not have anything paranormal about them at all. I know that I would be scared on an investigation. I would worry that I might mess it up by yelling or even getting so scared I might pee my pants.

Walk the High Road for Autism

Its that time of year again. I am asking for donations for the Autism Society of DE. I am doing a lot of volunteer work with themin the social comitee and in helping to get word out to the press. I am also attending a lot of their events taking pictures for them. The Autism Society of DE does a lot work to rasie Autism awareness and to help the families and those who have Autism in many ways. 1 new program they have is helping adults to find work.

Some of you probably know my 5 year old daughter has Autism and we live in DE, a state who doesn’t do much to help these kids. I am taking classes to learn how to advoste for people with Autism so hopefully I will be helping to make more changes but we need your help. I am not asking for you to give me all of your money. If you can only spare $5.00, or $10.00 that would be great becasue it all adds up. The money goes right to the AUtism Society of DE and I know from 1st hand the money goes right to the programs to help people. Please pass on the word and help me out. I would really appreciate it!

Birthday fun

Child # 1’s birthday is quickly approaching. Her birthday is Dec 15th and she will be 7. She has told us she wants a child’s size guitar, she got 1 several years ago and it was broken. I reminded her of this and she insists she will take very good care of it. I am worried her 2 little sisters will break it if we buy one for her. I found one at a local store for only $20.00. I told her if she is a good girl maybe she will get it. So I guess I will have my husband stop at the store on his way home from work, we will have a small family party for her and she will get her present.

When I found out I was pregant with child # 1 everyone who found out she was due in Dec and right before Christmas told me that she would grow to be disapointed and her birthday would be overshadowed by Christmas. I made an effort each year to make sure that her birthday was not ignored and that we had a party for her. So far it is working out. I will alsways to make sure her birthday is a special day for her.

Just so you know, my next post will be on or shortly after Dec 15th and I will be talking about my daughters birthday.

Bad school placement

Child #2’s school is insisting she is in the best placement for her. #2 told us the other night that she wandered out of the clasroom and into another teachers room. Her teacher did not tell me this. I am angry I was not even informed that she left the classrppm. This is an ILC kindergargen, there is a teacher and an aid in the room with 8 children total, they can’t keep an eye on the one they know has Autism.

After our last medated meeting a few weeks ago they didn’t inform us that the teacher had left her position and as of that day it was a new teachers 3rd day in the classroom. I was informed by a letter that a new teacher was there. I called ehr and she got back to me several days later saying my child is difiant. She has also wriiten in the notebook and my child not following the rules, her hittinga nother child and its just getting worse.

We are going back for another IEP meeting on Dec 20th so we will see what happens. I want a referal for ehr to be evualted by De’s Autism Program again. This current placement isn’t working and I am not happy with this school telling me lies.
